Some of the most controversial news was revealed during the CES show when Windows’ boss made the announcement that Skype will be available on their new and latest windows phone that will be released later this year. This is a big news especially for consumers as this means that all smartphones available in the market can now be integrated with the Skype Client.

This is one of the big leaps the company has made upon the distribution of Microsoft phones and many experts state that it is about time for the company to explore such applications. However, many are not quite sure whether the installation of a video calling application like Skype would be good for the phone. Skype apps tend to slow down the mobile phones and this is the reason why FaceTime in iPhone 4 and 4s seems a better option for users. Skype also has tremendous effects on the income of various mobile networks compared to those who charge fees for video calling like Apple.

As of the moment, there are no definite reports and information on how and in what way the company will use Skype for their new mobile phones. The only thing that the company is so sure of is that they are going to release a new version of Skype that will only work for their windows phone. The company is also on the process of improving the interface of the client so that more features will be added on it. Microsoft is on the loose to make their windows phone at par with other leading smartphones available today.
